Journaling

Journal Your Times of Fellowship with the Lord

As we spend our time with the Lord on these days of fasting, we will start to experience His sure and definite move in our lives.  A must-have during this time of intimacy with God is a nice journal (preferably new and dedicated to the Daniel Fast; not loose sheets of paper, which could be misplaced).

When and Why Do You Journal?
Journal everyday.  We encourage you to start with "Day 1," "Day 2," etc It really is up to you when, what and how you write but it is important that you write.  Why write?  Because when you write you actually have a hard copy of a glimpse into your future. Habakkuk tells us to right "the vision" so whoever reads it (mainly you) may run when he reads it.

Habakkuk 2:1-3 GNB
(1)  I will climb my watchtower and wait to see what the LORD will tell me to say and what answer he will give to my complaint.
(2)  The LORD gave me this answer: "Write down clearly on tablets what I reveal to you, so that it can be read at a glance.
(3)  Put it in writing, because it is not yet time for it to come true. But the time is coming quickly, and what I show you will come true. It may seem slow in coming, but wait for it; it will certainly take place, and it will not be delayed.

What Do You Journal?
  1. Journal your prayer points for the day:  So when you see the answers to your prayers, you recognize them.
  2. Journal the thoughts that come to your mind on specific issues and the whatever your impressions are from the Lord on those issues; include scriptural references to help guide you and give you confidence that God is speaking to you and not just your mind playing tricks on you.
  3. Journal concrete actionable plans and decisions you come to based on your time of prayer, and meditation on God's Word.  When you are done with these 21 days, you should be quite clear on a few knotty issues and be energized to move forward. You should have exchanged your strength with the Lord's and be ready to "mount up as the eagle."
 Isaiah 40:30-31 AMP
(30)  Even youths shall faint and be weary, and [selected] young men shall feebly stumble and fall exhausted;
(31)  But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired. [ Heb. 12:1-3.]
